✂️ About The Classes
-
If you'd just like to try sewing, our Intro to Sewing session is a fun, fast-paced introductory class that teaches you the basics as well as making a few projects to take home — a wonderful way to spend an afternoon.
If you already know you want to properly learn to sew, our Beginners 5 Week Course is perfect — five weeks aimed at complete beginners who don't even know how to plug a sewing machine in, let alone use it. We've got you covered.
-
Each class and course page has a detailed description of exactly what is covered and the level required. We recommend reading these carefully before booking. If in doubt, Beginners is always a great place to start — even for those who have sewn before. It's very common to have picked up unhelpful habits over the years, and our Beginners course ensures you have solid, correct foundations before moving forward.
Being able to sew is one thing but learning to sew well and understanding how to work with different fabrics is when we start seeing a major difference in the projects we produce.
-
Our main studio comfortably seats 22, however we intentionally keep class sizes much smaller — typically between 8 and 12 students.
Some classes are even smaller where additional cutting or workspace is required per person.
This ensures you always receive plenty of personal attention from your tutors.
-
For most classes, we provide everything you need — fabrics, materials and equipment are all included. Some classes may require you to bring specific items, and these will be clearly listed on the individual class description page.
*Please check your class page before attending.
For our core courses we out a welcome email about a week before your start date. This has all the information you will need about what to expect when you attend. (Do check your spam folder)
-
Yes — most sessions involve making one or more projects that you take home with you. Your class description page will outline exactly what you'll be making.
-
We use sewing machines that are specifically designed with beginners in mind. They are straightforward in their features, which means they can be mastered quickly and confidently without unnecessary complication. We have deliberately chosen machines that support the learning process rather than overwhelm it.
-
Yes, If you would like to bring your own machine we encourage you to do so.
It is good to practice on and get to know your personal machine.
All machines brought into the studio must be in a fully working order.

👥 General
-
That week will be missed and an additional week will be added on the end of the course. Your tutor will confirm this at the start of the course.
-
If, for any reason, you’re unable to make a session, please let us know by email at least 24 hours in advance. We’ll do our best to arrange a catch-up session where possible. Regrettably, sessions missed without 24 hours notice cannot be rescheduled.
Extra sessions can be bought here if you wish to have a catch- up session or wish to add extra sessions to the end of your course.
-
When a session is full, it no longer shows as bookable on the website. So if you are able to book a space, there is definitely a space available.
-
This is a very common concern but it needn’t be.
We have classes daily and several sessions of the same course. You can attend a catch up session with another group the week before or the week after the sessions you need to miss. Don’t worry, just let us know and we will find you several catch up options…just ask.
We value flexibility!
