The UK's first structured five-week overlocker course launches this September — and it's happening right here in our Liverpool studio.

Many of our courses we create because our learners ask for them. This one, we also created because nobody else in the country has.

We are so proud to introduce the Overlocker 5 Week Course — a first of its kind in the UK, beginning on 10th September at our waterfront studio.

Born From a Course You Made a Success

Our four-hour Overlocker class has become one of the most loved classes we run. Learners have travelled from the other side of London, Manchester, from Birmingham, and beyond — just to spend an afternoon with us and their overlocker.

Why? Because overlockers are what we know best. Of all the machines in our studio, the overlocker is our deepest area of expertise — every model, every quirk, every clever thing it can do that most owners never discover.

But four hours can only take you so far. The overlocker is a more complex machine than a sewing machine, and it deserves more than an introduction. This course is the natural next step.

The Machine You Own but Never Use

We hear it week after week: "I bought an overlocker and I'm scared of it.", "Mine has sat in the box for two years.", "I only use it to finish seams — I know it can do more."

So many people own an overlocker. Almost nobody has been taught how to truly use one — because until now, there has been nowhere in the UK to learn properly.

That's the problem this course solves. Over five weeks, we take you from cautious owner to confident overlocker sewer. You'll master threading, tension, the knife and differential feed until adjusting your machine feels like second nature. You'll learn how different fabrics behave, work with specialist presser feet, and build your own stitch reference book to keep forever.

And you won't just learn techniques — you'll make things. Hair and home accessories. Lingerie. A complete pair of leggings, cut to finished in a single session. A garment of your choice. All sewn on the overlocker, from start to finish.

You'll even learn how to properly clean and maintain your machine, so it runs beautifully for years to come.

The course runs in the same friendly format as all our five-week courses: one 2.5-hour session each week, in our fully equipped studio overlooking the Liverpool docks.

Bring your own overlocker so you leave knowing your machine inside out, or simply use one of ours. We provide all the test fabrics, threads, elastics and patterns for the set projects — and we encourage you to bring your own fabric for the garments, so you go home with things you actually want to wear.
