What You’ll Learn:

~ Over five exciting weeks, you’ll work with a variety of fabrics and follow two distinct patterns to create beautiful garments. Here's what you'll master:

~ Decoding Commercial Patterns: Learn how to read and understand commercial sewing patterns, so you can confidently use them in your future projects.

~Altering Patterns for a Perfect Fit: Get hands-on experience in altering patterns to suit your body measurements and achieve the perfect fit for your garments.

~ Mastering Sewing Techniques: From sewing seams to finishing hems and applying professional finishing touches, you'll learn how to use both a sewing machine and an overlocker to bring your garments to life.

~ Adjusting the Final Garment: After constructing your garment, we’ll show you how to make adjustments for the best possible fit, ensuring your pieces are both comfortable and stylish.

By the end of the course, you’ll not only have created two stunning garments, but you’ll also have the skills to confidently create more on your own. You’ll leave with a deeper understanding of commercial patterns and the ability to adapt them to your own designs.

What You’ll Need:

To participate in the course, we ask that you bring your own materials and sewing patterns. However, if you don’t have a pattern in mind, we offer a selection at the academy that you can choose from to get started.
