Celebrating the End of Our Latest Beginners Sewing Groups

Celebrating the End of Our Latest Beginners Sewing Groups

As we wrap up another incredible five weeks at the academy, I just wanted to take a moment to reflect on the journey our two most recent beginners sewing groups have been on—and what a journey it’s been!

From the very first stitch to the final thread, these groups have poured their hearts into learning the ins and outs of sewing. Over five intense and rewarding weeks, we tackled everything from threading machines and mastering seams to creating something truly special: their very own custom, bespoke aprons.

And let me tell you—these aprons weren’t just pieces of fabric stitched together. They were labours of love. A lot of blood (just a little!), sweat, and yes, even a few tears went into them. But every single moment was worth it. The creativity, the perseverance, and the progress—it’s been incredible to witness.

As a tutor, there’s nothing more fulfilling than seeing the pride and joy on everyone’s faces when they finally hold up a finished project they created with their own hands. It’s why I do what I do. These past five weeks have reminded me all over again just how magical sewing—and learning—can be.

To all the wonderful makers who joined us: I am so proud of you and your beautiful creations. You’ve inspired me, and I know you’ll inspire others too.

And now... bring on the next round! I can’t wait to welcome the next groups and see what magic they’ll create in the weeks to come.

Let’s keep making, keep learning, and keep celebrating every stitch of the journey.
